BIO
Luisa Farah Schwartzman is an associate professor at the Sociology department at the University of Toronto. She grew up in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where she did her bachelor's degree in economics at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, after which she moved to the US for her graduate studies, and subsequently to Canada, where she lives and works now. She has a Masters degree in Latin American Studies from Stanford University and a PhD in Sociology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
